Marvel Comics (which is now officially owned by Disney, by the way) released this image. People seem to think this means that Spidey will be getting married to Mary Jane, or at least have the whole two year old "deal with the devil (Mephisto)" undone.

Personally, I think it's just going to show what happened in the new altered timeline...why Peter and MJ did not get married. That hasn't been told as yet.

Although, I wouldn't complain if the incoming owner Disney ordered the change. A retcon of a retcon! What fools we mortals be...

Yuck... personally, I HATE the animation of the new Lizard Man. I MUCH prefer the "Amazing Spider-Man" look. They should scrap the job completely and change back to when Spidey was married to MJ and Lizard Man actually looked MANACING!

But this IS Disney we're talking about... Hmmm... That's an interesting trade-off for them, isn't it?

*facepalm* It's THE LIZARD. There isn't a "Lizard Man" anywhere in the Marvel Universe, or the DCU either. The Lizard in this pic looks like when he originally appeared back in the early 60's. Personally, I think he looked his best (and most fearsome) when he was drawn by Todd McFarlane:
