It seems that Bill has been interviewed by the Advisor Source Newspaper. I just have to take a minute to explode this as much as possible. Very Happy

How was it, Bill? Do you now feel like you and the company are reaching some sort of eschelon of semi-importance? Just one more stop on the road toward becoming the next Marvel Comics/Stan Lee?

Did you tell them any secrets you're not telling us? Do their readers know a little something extra about some new characters scheduled for debut in issue six?

Was the interviewer a hot red-headed chick? At least alright-lookin? Did you get her number? Laughing

I only ask the questions whose answers all of your readers would like to know! Cool

HA!

That's a lot of questions! Let's see what I can answer here.

It went well, it was easy. It was mostly a Q&A session, so I didn't really have to sweat anything. I was surprised when it was mentioned they had seen the site prior to the interview...I guess that means it turns up on search engines now, which I set up weeks ago, so it's nice to know it's working.

No, I have a looooooooooong way to go before I would consider myself fortunate enough to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Stan "The Man" Lee. Far way to go there...

I really didn't give them any spoilers, because I didn't want anything to get printed before the issues come out. That would majorly suck! No I mostly went over stuff that is already in print.

No, the interviewer was not a red headed lady (you know me well). He was a man. A comics fan too, so that was cool. And yes, I do have his phone number, but that's just for professional reasons.

I have no idea if the article will be a small blurb or a nice size deal, or whatever. I guess we'll find out together. I also realized today that I will be out of town with Craig when the issue comes out! Shocked I am gonna have to figure something out, so I can get my hands on a copy.

Do they have a copy of your comic so there can be a picture with the article?? If not, there is probably time to email them a cover. When they did an article on me awhile back (regarding my Davy Jones collection) I insisted that they send over a photographer, and they did! I think it helped the article quite a bit.

Evidentally, the article is finished and they asked me to send them some artwork samples, so they can run a pic or two with the article. It has been confirmed that it will be in this weekends paper.

And I'll be out of town! D'Oh!

How silly of me.

Now to take after IronMike...

I'll post the link here too, since there seems to be two threads about the interview:

I thought I would just post the article before the link is taken down. Also, I was walking out of a restaurant with friends today and I saw the Source paper bin and their was Bill's picture on the front page. Of course I had to point it out to everyone I was with! HA....that was cool.

Man making his lifelong hobby a full-time job

By ROSS RAYBIN
Contributing Writer

William Guerra is pursuing his lifelong dream of publishing his own comic books.

A comic book fan since he was a young boy, a Warren man is making a lifelong dream of publishing his own comics come true.
Since he was 5 years old, William Guerra has been interested in comic books. In high school his interest grew, and he began taking art and drawing classes.

However it wasn’t until recently that the 34-year-old decided to give his lifelong passion of producing his own series a shot.

Following a divorce and the loss of his job, Guerra decided to go for broke.

“I’ve been developing the stories and many of the characters since I was a kid,” said Guerra, “so it was all kind of right there for me.”

Currently Guerra has two different comic books he’s working on: “Reliant Presents” and “Tales from Thunder City.”

He described “Reliant Presents” as an anthology title where he takes literary characters such as Dracula and Frankenstein and gives them a more modern twist.

“In Reliant Presents,’ my goal is to draw a parallel between the supernatural of the past and the superhuman of the present,” said Guerra.

“Tales from Thunder City” goes in another direction.

“It’s an old-fashioned superhero comic,” said Guerra. “The characters are more crime fighters than save-the-world types.”

Guerra does everything related to the comic books from his home except print the comics.

“I do it all right out of my bedroom,” said Guerra. “The computer is a huge help. It gives me a lot of options.”

Both comics contain color covers with black and white pages on the inside. The “Reliant Presents” series has four issues available with a fifth in the works. However, he said, it’s not an easy process.

“I usually get through a page a day,” said Guerra.

While Guerra loves making his own comics, he does have other aspirations.

“I would love to work for Marvel or D.C. Comics,” he said of the two largest comic book publications, which produce such characters as Spider-man, Wolverine, X-Men, Captain America and Batman.

While trying to get his comics out there and noticed is his main goal right now, Guerra also has some side jobs to help pay the bills.

“I draw certain characters for people and I also help out my uncle with his lawn-cutting business,” he said.

Both series are only available online at the moment; however, Guerra hopes to have them in some area stores by the end of the year.

“I try to make the characters as interesting as possible,” said Guerra. “It’s a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of hard work.”

If Chuck Norris actually had a third fist under his beard, I think that would take away from his coolness. Now if ol' Chucky could pull a sword out of his mouth like Jesus in Revelation... THAT would be pretty cool! (Hm... I wonder why Jesus gets all the cool tricks.) scratch

That reminds me of a comic book adaptation of the bible that Craig and I once talked about. We would sort of modernize it and tweek it a bit here and there.

It would have the Nazis replace the Romans and Jesus would shoot lightning out of his eyes and throw boulders at the Nazis and stuff. Jesus would fist fight the devil while he was fasting in the desert. Cool stuff like that.

Then we felt we were getting too far away from the source material when we brought in aliens, so we never got past all that.

Maybe one day...

Lol, I agree you might have gotten carried-away, but don't fret. There's already a Christian Mecha-manga out that puts King David in a space-gundam-type thing, battling robot/cyborg Philistine armies... wierd. But possibly cool. (I've only read reviews.)

I have some Christian comic book concepts. I've started a story on Noah's sons, an "Avenger's" style Archangel group, (well... there's the Goliath Assassin, of course!) They're actually stories I brainstormed with video game RPG's in mind, but comics are stories too.
